We Coproduce worked tirelessly to embed coproduction across NHS services, working with NHS England, NHS Trusts, commissioners, universities and charities. Over that time 3 key questions kept coming up...

  1. How do we broaden our outreach to include new voices - those we know remain unheard?

  2. How do we coproduce when moving at pace and with limited capacity?

  3. How do we move beyond a tick box approach?

And the answer was always the same...Be creative.

From storytelling, stand up comedy, forum theatre, community radio stations, poetry jams and open mic to depressed cake sales and human jukebox's we inspired, excited and engaged and re wrote participation to include those who don't (and those who won't) speak NHS.

We addressed issues with front facing comms by challenging paternalistic language and produced dynamic and compelling opportunities for people to get involved. Valuing the skills and abilities of every citizen and inviting them to take part on their terms, putting dignity, agency and autonomy at the heart of the process. Where creativity talks and curiosity listens.

And it works.
